Xabier Mikel Errekondo Saltsamendi was born in Usúrbil, Guipúzcoa, on the 12th August in 1964.
Political Career[edit]
In 2007 Xabier Mikel Errekondo was appointed the mayor of Usurbil, his hometown, leading the candidacy of Basque Nationalist Action. His campaign won with a majority and he was mayor from 2007 to 2011 with the support of Aralar. During his tenure he opposed the installation of an incinerator, developing a system of door to door waste collection. In the general election of 2011 he came third on the list of Congress of Deputies for the Amaiur coalition of Guipuzcoa. Amaiur won three seats in the constituency, which got Errekondo the deputy roel for the X Legislature.
