Fiach Mac Conghail was born on the 4th of August, 1964. He is the Director of the Abbey Theatre and was appointed Senator by the Taoiseach in May 2011.
Political Career[edit]
Before being appointed Senator by the Taoiseach Enda Kenny, Fiach Mac Conghail was the chairman of 'We the Citizens'. This initiative was aimed at encouraging the participation of the public in political affairs.
Education[edit]
Fiach Mac Conghail was educated at the Coláiste Eoin and later, Trinity College in Dublin, where he obtained an Alma Mater in Economics and Politics.
Notable Work[edit]
Fiach Mac Conghail was very active in the field of arts. In the years between 1992 and 1999 he was the Artistic Director at the Project Arts Centre. During Ireland's participation at the Expo 2000, he served as Director. During the Irish Presidency of the European Union in 2004 he was Cultural Programme Commissioner.
