Algis Strelciunas (born 7 September 1960 in Vilnius, Lithuania) is an engineer, activist and politician. Since 2012, he has worked in the Committee on State Administration and Local Authorities from Homeland Union as a member of the Lithuanian Christian Democrat Political Group.
Political Career[edit]
Strelciunas is a member of the party Homeland Union – the Lithuanian Christian Democrat party. At the beginning of the Revival, he was actively involved in the activities of the movement and co-founded the Movement of the group as its agent. He was a member of the Vilnius City Red Cross board and was a pioneer in establishing the community in Lithuania. Since 2011 he has been a member of Vilnius City Council. In December 2012 he became a member on the Committee on State Administration and Local Authorities, and the Commission for Maritime and Fishery Affairs.
Education[edit]
From 1975 to 1979 he studied motor operation at the Polytechnic Institute of Vilnius. After serving in the army in 1981, he entered the Vilnius Institute of Civil Engineering, in the Faculty of Mechanical Technology. He studied and worked as a mechanic in Vilnius and in 1987, he graduated.
