She obtained a diploma from a high school focusing on humanities.
Political career[edit]
In 1999 she became the coordinator for Forza Italia's regional youth movement in Lazio.
She was entered the Italian Chamber of Deputies in 2008 with Popolo della Libertà, working in the Transport, Post and Telecommunications Commission, the Execution of Fiscal Federalism Commission, the Infantry and Adolescence Commission, the Legislation Committee and the Constitutional, Presidential and Internal Affairs Commission.
In 2013 she was re-elected for Popolo della Libertà, retaining the seat in the Constitutional, Presidential and Internal Affairs Commission and entering the Culture, Science and Education Commission. In 2013, she was appointed as Health Minister by the prime minister Enrico Letta.
