Hassan B. Diab is the Minister of Education and High Education in Lebanon. He was a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon.

Professional Career[edit]

Diab is a chartered engineer in the UK Engineering Council, as well as a registered chartered professional engineer in the National Professional Engineers Register of Australia. He entered into academia and became a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Diab has written and published numerous works over the last 25 years of being in academia, and has written 120 publications for national and international journals. Furthermore, Diab has served as a member of over 50 organizations of international conferences, as well as an honorary member of the Advisory Board of several international biographical organizations. He has received the Fulbright Research Award in 1988 and the Young Arab Scientists Shuman Prize in Engineering in 1992. In 2001, he was a founding member of the First Arab Computer Society. He is also a founding member of the IEEE Student Branch at AUB.
