Kristiina Ojuland is a member of the Estonian Reform Party and has been serving as one of six Estonian MEPs in the European Parliament since 2009. She has also been serving as Vice-Chair of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (ALDE-PACE Group) since 2007.

In June 2004, Ojuland ran for the post of Secretary-General of the Council of Europe.

Education[edit]

After obtaining a Bachelor’s of Law (LLB) from the University of Tartu in 1990, Ojuland enrolled for postgraduate study at the Estonian School of Diplomacy in Tallinn. Upon completion of her Master’s in 1992, she attended two special programs at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in 1992 and the Vienna School of International Studies in 1993.


Notable Work[edit]

Ojuland has been AWARDED the Commander of the Legion of Honour in France, the Grand Cross of the Order of Infante D. Henrique in Portugal, and the Order of the National Coat of Arms 5th Class in Estonia. She has attended numerous forums and conferences reporting on various subjects including women’s rights, EU-Russia relations, cooperation in the Baltic Sea region, and environmental issues.
