Rosa Aguilar started her political career as a member of the Communist Party of Spain and then joined the coalition of the left wing Spanish Parties (IU-United Left). She was Mayor of Cordoba. In her latter years she was elected to the Spanish Congress of Deputies for Cordoba Province. She did not stand at the 2000 election.
