Uxue Barkos Berruezo is a current member of the Spanish Parliament for the party Geroa Bai, representing the region of Navarra.
Political Career[edit]
She was born in Pamplona on July 5th, 1964. She studied Journalism at the University of Navarra and worked for several years in the field, taking up some positions in RNE and TVE (the state run television and radio stations), ETB ("Vasc Television") and the newspaper "Navarra Hoy". She then became involved with politics after the creation of the nationalist party Nafarroa Bai. In 2004, Uxue Barkos was selected to take up the position of parliamentarian in Madrid. In 2011 she renewed her position as a parliamentarian under the newborn coalition, Geroa Bai.
