Biography
Beatrice Lorenzin was born in Rome on 14 October 1971 and she is an Italian politician.
Political career
In 1996, she became a member of the italian Party Popolo della Libertà and on October, 1997 she was elected to the city council of Rome. On April 1999 she became Lazio regional coordinator of the Party's youth movement. On May 2001, she was re-elected city councilor of Rome. Then she joined the Party, Forza Italia as group leader and she served in the post until 2006. She has been a member of the Italian parliament since 2008. On April 28th 2013, she became Minister of Health to the cabinet led by prime minister Enrico Letta. On November 2013, she left the Party Popolo della Libertà and joined the Party Nuovo Centro Destra, led by Angelino Alfano. Beatrice Lorenzin continued to serve as the Minister of Health in the cabinet formed by Matteo Renzi on February 2014.
