Mário Nelson da Silva Vaz Simões was born on August 8th, 1970. He is a businessman and a manager and currently serves as a Deputy at the Portuguese National Assembly.

He was elected by the electoral circle of Beja through the Social Democratic Party to serve as a deputy on the XII Legislature (2011-2015). He currently holds a position on various Parliamentary Commissions including the National Defense, Agriculture and Sea commissions.
