Ivan Šantek was born on 20 October 1960 in Dvorišće, Croatia. He is a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ; Croatian: Hrvatska demokratska zajednica) and has been a member of the Croatian Parliament (Hrvatski sabor) during its sixth and seventh term.
Political Career
Račan's second mandate began on 22 December 2011. He is a member of the Domestic Policy and National Security Committee, a member of the Defence Committee, a member of the Petitions and Appeals Committee, and a member of the National Council for Water. Previously, he was a member of the Labour, Retirement System and Social Partnership Committee.
Education
Račan completed his post secondary school education at the Technical School of Professional Higher Education - Electrical Engineer.
