Ruth Lynn Deech was born on the 29th April 1943 in Clapham London. She is a British Academic, lawyer and bioethicist.
Political Career
In 2005, it was announced that she would be made a lifetime peer as a crossbencher. On 5th of October, 2005 she was given the title Baroness Deech, of Cumnor in the County of Oxfordshire. During her time in parliament she has served on a number of committees.
From 2006-2010 she served on the Merits of Statutory Instruments Committee. In 2007 she had a place on the Draft Human Tissue and Embryo’s bill Joint Committee. In 2010 she was also a member of the Communications Committee.
Education
Deech studied at St Anne’s College, Oxford. She graduated in 1965 with a first class honours. In 1991 she was made principal of the college.
