Denis O'Donovan was born in Bantry, on 23 of July 1955. He is the youngest in a family of 11 children. O'Donovan is a member of Seanad Éireann and part of the Irish Fianna Fáil party.
Political Career[edit]
Denis O'Donovan was elected to the Cork County Council in 1985, where he was re-elected in 1992 and 1999. In 1898 he was nominated by the Taoiseach to the Seanad. He won another mandate in 1997 on the Industrial and Commercial Panel. O'Donovan was elected to Dáil Éireann, on his fifth attempt, at the 2002 general election for the Cork South–West constituency. In 2007 he was once more elected to the Seanad. Currently he is a member of the Joint Oireachtas Committees on Communications, Marine & Natural Resources and Justice, Equality, Defence & Women's Rights.
