Tjeerd van Dekken was born on May 14th 1967 in Marum. He is a member of the Dutch House of Representatives on behalf of the Labour Party (PvdA).
Political career
From 1994 till 1998 he was the chairman of the Young Socialists (JS). Since 1996 he is the chairman of the PvdA in Groningen. From 1998 till 2008 he was a discussion leader and programme maker at Buro TVD, of which he is the owner since 2006.
