Member of the Socialist Party of Catalonia, agreed to deputy status in 1979 In 1986 granted the State Administration and served in the Ministry of Parliamentary Relations, reaching the position of Director of the Office of the Minister Virgilio Zapatero between 1989 and 1993. She went back to being elected deputy in the general elections of 1996 and has since maintained her seat. In the new legislature she was First Vice President of the Congress.
