Ante Sanader was born on May 17, 1960 in Dugobabe near Klis, Croatia. He is a member of the Croatian Parliament (Hrvatski Sabor) and a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ; Croatian: Hrvatska Demokratska Zajednica).
