Algimantas Salamakinas (Baronina, Lithuania, 4 September 1952) is a politician and social activist. The first time he was elected to the parliament was in 1992. He is currently a member of Parliament for the Republic of Lithuania, representing the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party. He is a chairman of the Energy Commission and a member of Elders Conference.
Political career
Since 2001 Salamakinas has been a member of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party. Since 1992 he has been re-elected to the Parliament every four years. From 1996 to 2000 he was a Vice-President of the Human Rights Committee. Algimantas Salamakinas also worked on the Ethics and Procedures Commission. From 2012 he was a chairman of the Environment Committee, a member of Energy Commission and a member of Elders Conference.
Education
