John Whelan was born March 24th 1961. He is a member of the Irish Seanad for the Labour Party.

Political Career

Whelan joined the Labour Party in 2010. He was the candidate for the Labour Party for the Laois–Offaly constituency at the 2011 general election. He was elected to Seanad Éireann on the Labour Panel in April 2011.
