Karine Lalieux is currently an MP for the electoral district Brussels-Halle-Vilvoorde and alderman of the city of Brussels (in charge of Public Cleanliness and Culture since December 2012). She was already a member of Parliament in the 50th and 51st legislatures.

Karine Lalieux has been in parliament since May 25th, the most recent national elections in Belgium. However, she has already had a seat in the Belgian Chamber of Representatives since April 2000 as a member of the Socialist Party (PS). Karine Lalieux is also active on the local level as a councillor in Brussels.  
Bein a very active MP, Karine Lalieux is at the root of a number of laws and bills including the Universal banking law (law passed) and the creation of an observatory of the cost of daily life. Karine Lalieux was born on May 4th, 1964 in Anderlecht (Belgium). She is a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives as a member of the French-speaking Socialist Party (PS) in Brussels.

Political Career

Karine Lalieux has been in parliament since May 25th, the most recent national elections in Belgium. However, she has already had a seat in the Belgian Chamber of Representatives since April 2000 as a member of the Socialist Party (PS). Karine Lalieux is also active on the local level as a councillor in Brussels.

Education

Karine Lalieux holds a Master’s degree in criminology from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
