Charles Mark Townshend Colville, 5th Viscount Colville of Culross (born September 5th 1959) is a British television producer, director and peer.

Political Career[edit]

Viscount Colville of Culross is a hereditary title, and Charles Colville inherited it from his father in 2010, and was later elected to the House of Lords by the remaining hereditary peers in July 2011. He sits as a crossbencher; he has no party allegiance. He is interested in the UK's relationship with the USA, as well as its relationships with Russia, Ukraine and other former Soviet countries. He used his maiden speech to describe how problematic unpaid internships are, specifically with reference to the media sector, as he is a Director at the BBC.

Education[edit]

He studied at Rugby School and St Chad's College, Durham.

Notable Work[edit]

Charles Colville is a Director at the BBC, and was Senior Producer for BBC Science between 2005 and 2010, moving on to become Senior Producer for BBC History.
