Elco Brinkman (born on February 5th, 1948 in Dirksland) is a Dutch politician in the Dutch Senate for the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA).
Political Career[edit]
In 1995 Brinkman was a member of the Dutch House of Representatives for the CDA. In 1994 he was the CDA party leader. From 1989 until 1994 he was the group chairman of the CDA in the House. Furthermore, from 1982 until 1989 he was the Minister of Welfare of Health and Culture. Elco Brinkman was the director-general of Domestic Affairs at the Ministry of Internal Affairs from 1980 until 1982. He was also the deputy secretary general at the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 1979.
Education[edit]
Elco Brinkman completed doctoral studies in political science and public law at the Free University of Amsterdam.
