Hubertus Johannes Petrus (Peter) Essers (born on March 10th, 1957 in Margraten) is a Dutch politician. Since June 10th, 2003, he has been member of the Dutch Senate for the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA).
Political Career[edit]
Peter Essers has been a member of the Dutch Senate since June 10th, 2003. He is Professor of tax law at the Tilburg University, where he is the chairman of the Department of Tax Law at Tilburg Law School. He is Director of the European Tax College and Chairman of the Academic Committee of the European Association of Tax Law Professors (EATLP). He is also chairman of Sophia's Vereeniging in Loon op Zand. He has been chairman of the Standing Committee on Finance of the Dutch Senate for the last eight years. He is the spokesperson for economic affairs and higher education.
Education[edit]
Peter Essers studied Fiscal Economics at the University of Tilburg from 1975 until 1982.
