Jim D'Arcy was born on July 20th, 1954 and he is an Irish politician.
Political career[edit]
Jim D'Arcy has been part of Louth County Council and Dundalk Town Council, respectively from 1999 and 2004. In 2011, the Prime Minister Enda Kenny nominated him for the Irish Senate. Jim D'Arcy works on the Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement, that plays a role in subjects like the North/South economic relations. He was a member of the Constitutional Convention. He is the Education spokesman in the Senate for the Fine Gael party.
Notable works[edit]
In August 2014 he observed the Turkish Presidential Election, as committee for the Council of Europe, and spoke in support of the Kurds under threat from ISIS.
