Gleichschaltung[edit]
Stemming from Nazi terminology, Gleichschaltung refers to the totalitarian control and coordination of civil society, in which non-Nazi organizations were replaced by Nazi equivalents. It refers to total control of cultural and social organizations and therefore the access and right to practice certain cultural and social practices within the context of an institution or organization.
