David Assouline is a member of the Senate of France, representing the constituency of Paris. He has been elected in 2004 and in 2011 and he represents the Senate Socialist Group.
Biography and Political Career
He was born in 1959 in Morocco. By profession he is a Professor of history and geography and has been publishing different works, as well as a documentary film over the history of Jews in Morocco. Mr. Assouline has been politically engaged since 1995, when he became a member of the Socialist Party. Since 2003 he has joined the party's National Council. Moreover he was member of the Administrative Council of Radio-France society, as well as France2, deputy mayor for Paris (20th arrondissement) and member of the Delegation for Women Rights.
