Christophe Bechi has been the President of the General Council of the Maine-et-Loire department since 2004, and was a member of the European Parliament, elected in the 2009 European election until 2011 for the Western France constituency. A former member of DL, he is now a member of the leading centre-right party, Union for a Popular Movement. He is also European deputy, Regional Advisor Pays de la Loire, and Deputy Mayor in Avrillé
