Jean-Marc Nollet was born on 7 January 1970 in Mouscron (Belgium). He is a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives for the Walloon Green party (Ecolo).

Political Career

Jean-Marc Nollet started his political career as political secretary of Ecolo in the Parliament of the French community in the period 1994-1999. From 1999 to 2004, he was French community Minister of child welfare, basic education, and day care. Since 2004, he has been a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives for Ecolo. Between 2007 and 2009, he was leader of the national Green group in the Parliament. Jean-Marc Nollet is a former Vice President and was Minister of sustainable development and civil service in Walloon government in the period between 2009-2014, and Vice President Minister of child, research, and civil service in the Government of the French community. Since the national and regional elections on May 25th 2014, he is Vice President and Minister of sustainable development, civil service, energy, housing, and research in the Walloon government, and Vice President and Minister of Child, research, and civil service in the Government of the French community, as well as a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives for Ecolo.

Education

Jean-Marc Nollet graduated in Political Science with a specialisation in International Relations.
