Barbara Czaplicka

Barbara Czaplicka was born on 22 November 1948 in Warsaw, Poland. She is a doctor, a local government official, and has been a member of the Parliament of Poland since 2010 (VI and VII term).

Political Career

Before 1989, during the communist period Czaplicka founded the Solidarity Health Care in Grodzisk Mazowiecki. She also was a councilor of the Michałowice municipality, and then in 2002 and 2006 obtained a mandate for county councilor of the Pruszków region, following this she became vice chairman of the county council. In 2007, she unsuccessfully ran as a candidate for Parliament from the list of Platforma Obywatelska (Civic Platform) for the Warsaw area. Following the resignation of Bronislaw Komorowski’s mandate she was granted permission to get a mandate to the Parliament in 2010. She was reelected in 2011 as a Member of Parliament.

Education

Czaplicka graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical Academy in Warsaw. She specialized in pediatrics. During her career she was a director of a private healthcare facility in Komorowo.
