Algirdas Vaclovas Patackas (born 28 September 1943 in Trakai, Lithuania) is a Lithuanian engineer, technologist and politician. In the parliament from 1992. Since 2012 is a member of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture.

Political Career

Political career of Algidras started in 1988, he became a member of the Initiative Group in Kaunas, took part in a Lithuanian Reform Movement. In 1990 was elected to Supreme Council in Žaliakalnis constituency. From 1992 to 2000 in the parliament belonged to the movement, then the Christian Democrats led by Lithuanian-Czech inter parliamentary relations group. After worked on the defense system projects, participated in the special missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chechnya and Georgia. Since 2012 is a member of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture and a memeber of different groups, missions.

Education

In 1966 graduated from Polytechnic Institute, got a Diploma of Technological Engineer. From 1968 was in the Academy for post-graduate students, wrote 9 scientific articles from the author Electrochemistry.
