Karine Lalieux is a Belgian socialist politician born in Anderlecht May 4, 1964.

Political career

Karine Lalieux is currently an MP for the electoral district Brussels-Halle-Vilvoorde and alderman of the city of Brussels (in charge of Public Cleanliness and Culture since December 2012). She was already a member of Parliament in the 50th and 51st legislatures. Bein a very active MP, Karine Lalieux is at the root of a number of laws and bills including the Universal banking law (law passed) and the creation of an observatory of the cost of daily life. She also called for the establishment of of the Tobin tax. She is also a member of the economy committee.

Education

She has a degree in criminological sciences at the Free University of Brussels, where she is a lecturer.
