Ljudmila Novak
Ljudmila Novak (born July 8, 1955) is a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia the President of the New Slovenia – Christian Democrats (Slovenian: Nova Slovenija – Krščanski demokrati, NSi).
Political Career
She was first elected to the National Assembly in 2011 and in the present mandate she is the Vice-President of the Committee on Culture. In 2012-2013, she was the Vice-Minister of the Republic of Slovenia and the Minister for Slovenians Abroad.
In the years 2001-2004, she was a Mayor of the Municipality of Moravče. From 2004 till 2009 she was a member of the European Parliament and since 2008 tshe is also the President of the NSi.
Professional Career
In 1983, she started as Professor in the high school center Murska Sobota, in the years 1985-1986, Ljudmila Novak was a Professor in the Girls' shelter Višja Gora and head of secondary school. Later on she also held the position of the Professor in the high school of the Training Institute for Disabled Youth in Kamnik.
Education
In 1984, Ljudmila Novak graduated in Slovenian and German language at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana.
