Hugh Jackman
Hugh Michael Jackman, born 12 October 1968 in Sydney, is an Australian actor and producer who is involved in film, theatre and television. He is best known for his long-running role as Wolverine in the X-Men film series, as well as for his leads in Kate & Leopold, Van Helsing, The Prestige, Australia, Real Steel, Les Misérables, and Prisoners. His work in Les Misérables earned him his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor and his first Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy in 2013. He is also a singer, dancer, and actor in stage musicals. He won a Tony Award for his role in The Boy from Oz. In 2013, Jackman also won the Golden Globe as the Best Actor for his role in Les Misérables.

Humanitarian Causes
Jackman is a global advisor of the Global Poverty Project, for which he narrated a documentary. He hosted a preview of the Global Poverty Project Presentation in New York together with Donna Karan, Lisa Fox and his wife Deborra-Lee. He is also a World Vision ambassador and participated in the climate week NYC ceremony on 21 September 2009.
Philanthropic Donations
As a philanthropist, Jackman is a longtime contributor to Microcredit – the extension of very small loans to prospective entrepreneurs in impoverished countries. He is a vocal supporter of Muhammad Yunus, microcredit pioneer and the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner. Besides that, Jackman is supporting many charities and causes: Laughing Man Worldwide, Actors Fund of America, World Orphans Foundation, Think Global, Red Cross, Project Zambi, World Vision, The Art of Elysium, and more.
