Tomaž Lisec (born February 19, 1978) is a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia and a member of the Slovenian Democratic Party (Slovenian: Slovenska demokratska stranka, also known by the acronym SDS).

Political Career

He was first elected to the National Assembly in 2011. Lisec currently serves the second term and he is also the Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Interior, Public Administration and Local Self-Government within it.

In 2002, he run in local elections as a candidate on SDS the list for the municipal council of Sevnica, and in 2010 he was the Program Secretary of the SDS.In the 2006-2010 and 2010-2014 mandates, he was a member of the Municipality of Sevnica Council and of the local community Boštanj Council.

In the years 2005–2011, he was an expert associate to the deputy group of the SDS in the National Assembly.

Education

In 2004, he graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences, majoring in political science. Lisec currently continues his postgraduate studies at the Faculty for State and European Studies in Kranj.
