Marit Maij was born on the 16th of January 1972 in Apeldoorn. She is a politician in the Dutch House of Representatives for the Labour Party (PvdA).
Political career
In 1994 she was an intern in the European Commission. Between 1994 and 1996, she was an assistant in the CDA-fraction in the European Parliament. Between 1996 and 2012 she worked for embassies in San José, Costa Rica and Peking.
Education
In 1994 she became a doctor in Political science at the University of Amsterdam. Additionally, she did a MBA programm at the European University.
