Nancy Arendt
Nancy Arendt is a former athlete and member of the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies, where she represents the Christian Social People’s Party (Chrëschtlech-Sozial Vollekspartei) in the South Consitutency.
Nancy Arendt was born in Esch-sur-Alzette in 1969.
Political Career
She has been a member of the Christian Social People's Party since 1993 and a Deputy Member of NATO Parlamentarian Assembly since 2009. She was a member of the Accounts Commission in 2003 and Vice-President from January 2004 until June 2004. She was a member of the Commission on Family, Equal Opportunities and Youth from 2004 until 2009. Since 20013 she has been a member of the Commission on Petition, member of the Commission on Health, Equal Opportunities and Sports, Vice-President of the Comission on Public Power and a member of the Commission on Family and Integration.
Professional Experience
Nancy Arendt competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics, in Seoul, participating in the 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke. She finished twenty-ninth and thirty-first respectively. After converting to triathlon, Kemp-Arendt competed in that sport's first appearance in the Summer Olympics, in 2000. She has won the title of Luxembourgian Sportswoman of the Year a total of six times – two for swimming and four for triathlon.
