Andrzej Gałażewski was born in 20 April 1944 in Kraków. He is a Polish politician. At the end of Word War II he moved with his parents to Gliwice, where he is living till now.

Political career

In 1980 he joined to "Solidarność" and he was involved in creating leaflets about democracy and Solidarity and some anti-communist magazines. In 1986 he was arrested in charge of anti-communist activities but but in September he was lefted free. Between 1990 and 1991 he was President of Gliwice. Between 1997 and 2000 he was Voivode of Silesian District.In 2001 he was first time elected to Polish Parlament and the second time in 2005. Between 2004 and 2005 he was member of Europian Parlament. Since 2007 till now he is member of Polish Parlament. At the beginnig his political career in independent Poland(1991-1994)he was in Kongres Liberalno-Demokratyczny, KLD(Liberal Democratic Congress-center-conservative, liberal-Catholic party in Poland)till end of KDL in 1994. After this he moved to Unia Wolności(Freedom Union (Poland)). Since 2001 he is member of Platforma Obywatelska.

Education

Andrzej Gałażewski graduated from Silesian University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Machinery and Power Engineering - Master of Science (1968) and Silesian University of Technology Investment Industrial Design (1981) - postgraduate studies.
