Algirdas Vaclovas Patackas (born 28 September 1943 in Trakai, Lithuania) is a Lithuanian engineer, technologist and politician. In the Parliament from 1992. Since 2012 is a member of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture.

Political Career

Political career of Algirdas started in 1988, he became a member of the Initiative Group in Kaunas, took part in a Lithuanian Reform Movement. In 1990 was elected to Supreme Council in Žaliakalnis. From 1992 to 2000 in the Parliament belonged to the movement, then the Christian Democrats led by Lithuanian-Czech inter parliamentary relations group. After worked on the defense system projects, participated in the special missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chechnya and Georgia. Since 2012 is a member of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture and a member of different groups, missions.

Education

In 1966 graduated from Polytechnic Institute, got a Diploma of Technological Engineer. From 1968 was in the Academy for post-graduate students, wrote 9 scientific articles from the author Electrochemistry.
