Zoran BožiÄ
Zoran Božič (born October 31, 1952) is a member of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia.
Political career
He served as the president of the workers' council and the party secretary for several terms. In 1988, at a conference of Slovenian Communists in Ljubljana, he proposed that Slovenian delegates to the federal authorities in Belgrade use Slovenian language. In 1990, he unsuccessfully run on the ZSMS list as a candidate for deputy in the national Assembly of Associated Labor. After independence was finally cut off with politics and re-dedicated to professional issues.
Professional Career
He began his professional career at the School Centre for freight transport in Nova Gorica. In 2004, became an assistant for literature in Slovene at the University of Nova Gorica, a position he still occupies.
In a broader Slovenian territory, he lectures on literary didactics, however, in Goriška region, he focuses primarily on homeland issues.
During the years, he published many articles, discussions and made many contributions to the teaching manuals in which he started paying attention to the question of teaching literature. In 1998, he published comprehensive manuals for home reading Zlati poljub (The Golden Kiss) and Poljub zlata (The Kiss of gold). His scientific articles were also published in the United States, Serbia, Macedonia and Estonia.
Education
Božič graduated in Comparative Literature and Slovenian Language and has PhD in Didactics of Literature from the University of Ljubljana. In 2010, he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation entitled Poetry by France Prešeren in secondary school textbooks and its reception, had a lecture at the Congress of the Slavistic Society of Slovenia in October and won a special award for the best doctoral student.
