Ján Figeľ
Ján Figel (born on January 20, 1960 in Vranov) is a member of the National Council of SR. He stood for the seat of KDH in Bratislava. He is married and the father of 4 children.
Political career
• 1992 - 1998 Member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic and a member of the Committee on Defence and Security, Foreign Affairs Committee, Committee for European Integration
• 1993 - 1998 Member of Parliament in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE)
• 1995 - 1998 Vice-President of the PACE Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development
• 1997 - 1998 President of the PACE Sub-Committee on International Economic Relations
• 1998 - 2002 State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
• 1998 - 2003 Chief Negotiator SR for negotiations on accession to the EU
• 2002 Representative of the Slovak Government in the Convention on the Future of Europe
• 2002 - 2004 Member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council member of the Parliamentary Committee for European Integration
• 2002 - 2003 Co-Chairman of the Standing Delegation of the National Council of the Slovak Republic in the Joint Parliamentary Committee EU-SR
• 2002 - 2003 Representative of the National Council of the Slovak Republic in the European Convention
• 2003 - 2004 Head of the Permanent Delegation of Observers of the National Council of the Slovak Parliament (EP Constitutional Committee)

Education
In 1983 Figeľ graduated from the Technical University of Košice in the field of Electronics. He also has degrees in International Relations at Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA and another at the UFSIA in Antwerpen about the European Economic Integration.
