Jimmy Deenihan was born on September 11th, 1952. He was born in Finuge, Lixnaw, County Kerry.

Political Career[edit]

Jimmy Deenihan is an Irish Fine Gael politician and Minister of State of the Diaspora. He is a Teachta for the Kerry North-West Limerick constituency. From 2011 and 2014 he was the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. Currently he serves a Minister of State for the Diaspora at the Departments of the Taoiseach and Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Education[edit]

He was educated at St. Michael’s College, Listowel and later at the Thomond College of Education in Limerick.

James “Jimmy” Deenihan played Gaelic football with Kerry in the 1970s and 1980s. He played rugby with Garryowen.
