Lord Baker was a Conservative Member of Parliament from 1968 to 1997.
Political Career
His governmental positions included Minister for Information Technology, Minister for Local Government, Secretary of State for the Environment, and Secretary of State for Education and Science. He was also Home Secretary from 1990 to 1992. He joined the House of Lords in June 1997. His main policy focuses include; business, industry, consumers, culture, media, sport, economy, finance, education and employment.
