Benoît Lugen was born on March 10th 1970 in Bastogne (Belgium). He has been the party leader of the Walloon Christian Democratic Party (CDH) since 2011.

Political Career

Benoît Lutgen is a former Minister in the Walloon Government Demotte 2, responsible for public projects, agriculture, nature conservation, state affairs, and heritage. He began his political career as general secretary of the Walloon Christian Democratic Party (CDH) in 2001. In July 2004, he became the Walloon Minister of state affairs, agriculture, environment, and tourism. On September 2011, he became the party leader of CDH and since 2012 Benoît Lutgen has also been mayor of his hometown Bastogne.
