Lord Grantchester
Christopher John Suenson-Taylor was born on the 8th April 1951. He is a British peer and Labour politician.
Political Career
Taylor became a member of the House of Lords on the 31st October 2003. He has mainly focused on policies concerning ‘Agriculture, animals, food and rural affairs’, ‘Business, industry and consumers’, ‘Culture, media and sport’ and ‘energy and environment’. During his time in the House of Lords he served on the EU sub-Committee D-Agriculture, fisheries and the environment. He has also been on the Hybrid Instruments Committee since 2004.
Education
He was educated at Winchester College. He then moved on to study at the London School of Economics, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in economics.
Notable Work
He was the director of Everton FC from 1994 to 2000. He has also been the Cheshire representative of the Royal Agricultural Society of England from 1994-1997. He is currently the Vice President of the Oulton Park Cricket Club, a position he has held since 2006.
