Trinidad Jiménez García-Herrera, born 4 June 1962 in Málaga, is a member of the Spanish Chamber of Deputies representing the Spanish province of Málaga. Jiménez García-Herrera is a member of the Spanish Socialist Worker’s Party, Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE) and she is a member of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Grupo Socialista (GS) within the Chamber of Deputies.

Political Career[edit]

Trinidad Jiménez García-Herrera has been an MP for the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) from Málaga, for the IX and the X legislatures. Previously, she was a councillor spokesperson in the city of Madrid. During the first legislature of Zapatero’s government she was appointed Secretary of State for Latin America. During the second one, she was appointed Minister for Health and Social Policy, a position she held from 2009 to 2010, when she was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. Nowadays, in the Chamber of Deputies, she is a member of the Permanent Committee, the Commission of Health and Human Services and of the Subcommittee on Structural Analysis Problems of the Health System. Finally, she is also a spokesman of the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Education[edit]

Trinidad Jiménez has a degree in law and is an expert on International Relations.
