Nils Schmid
Nils Schmid was born on the 11th of June 1973 in Trier. He has been a member of the German Federal Council for the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) since 2011. He is the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance and Economics of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
Political career
Before his political career, he worked independently as a lawyer. Between 1996 and 1998 he served as the deputy chairman of the Young Socialists in Baden-Württemberg. From 1999 to 2010 he was the chairman of the SPD-local association in Nürtingen. As of 2009 he is the chairman of the SPD National Association of Baden-Württemberg.
Education
Schmid graduated from German secondary school in 1993 with the Abitur (A-Level). Between 1994 and 1999 he studied law in Tübingen and in 2006 he received his doctorate.
