Olga Zrihen is a Belgian politician, born in Casablanca on the 10th of January 1953. She is a member of the Parti Socialiste (PS) and a federal senate.

Political career

Olga Zrihen first worked as a teacher of German and English. After she moved from Mons to La Louvière she started her political career. From 1994 until 1999 Olga Zrihen was chairman of the Union socialiste communale de La Louvière. In 2001 she became Councillor of La Louvière. She was a member of the European Parliament from 2001 until 2004. In 2004 she was co-opted to the Belgian Senate, and in 2007 she was elected a member. In 2009 she was appointed senator by the Walloon Parliament, where she holds the position of quaestor. She became President of the Col-lege of Quaestors in 2010. Since 2009 she has been both a member of the Walloon Parliament and of the Parliament of the French community. From 2006 until 2009 she was Deputy Mayor in La Louviere and she is still a Municipal Councillor.

Education

Olga graduated from the École internationale d'Interprètes de l'Université de Mons-Hainaut with a Masters degree in translation.
