Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska born on the 14th December 1963 in Katowice, Poland. She has been the Minister of Education since 2013, in 2007 she was Minister of Labour and Social Policy and in 2007 she became Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Regional Development. Between 2005 and 2007 she was Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Member of the Sejm VI and VII of the term.

Political Career

In 2004 she joined the Capital City Office in Warsaw as a chief specialist at the press office. In the same year she joined Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (the Law and Justice). In 2005 she was appointed as a proxy for the Mayor of Warsaw. In 2005 she was appointed Secretary of State in the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, taking part of the responsibility of the Government Plenipotentiary for Equal Status of Women and Men (the office was then closed by the new Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz). In July, he submitted his resignation and went to the Ministry of Regional Development, headed by Grazyna Gęsicka. In 2007, after breaking up the PiS coalition with the LPR and Self-Defence, she returned to work at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy at the office of the minister. A position she held until 16 November 2007, swearing in his successor in the government of Donald Tusk. Earlier in the same year she gained a parliamentary seat, as a candidate for the leader of the Law and Justice list in the Lodz.. In 2010 she became the head of the election headquarters of the presidential candidate of the Law and Justice Jaroslaw Kaczynski. In 2011 she was admitted to the parliamentary club of this group. In the parliamentary election she was the leader of the list of PO to Parliament in the district of Rybnik, she gained a parliamentary seat. In 2013, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced her appointment as Minister for Education. In 2014 she took the same position in the government of Ewa Kopacz.

Education

She graduated from the IV High School. Gen. Maczek in Katowice. She graduated in journalism from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science at the University of Warsaw.
