The World Society Perspective refers to an emerging school of thought which seeks to describe the recent massive increase in globalization. Also known as the World Polity Theory or the Neo- institutional Perspective on the global system, the World Society Perspective emphasizes the role of global institutions and culture in influencing the behavior of states, governments, organizations and individuals at a global level. The World Society Perspective seeks to explain global change, particularly the spread of Western policies, as a result of the growth of global institutions and the emergence of an all permeating common world culture.
