Georg Unland
Georg Unland, born November 14, 1953 in Bocholt, is a German politician (CDU). He is the current Finance Minister of Saxony.
Political Career[edit]
Since 2008 he has been Saxon State Minister of Finance; from 2008 Deputy Member of the Federal Council; and since 2009 member of the Federal Council.
Education[edit]
1972-1976 he studied mechanical engineering at the Technische Hochschule in Darmstadt; Activity in various executive positions at Wella AG in Darmstadt, at the Krupp Polysius AG in Beckum / Westphalia and from 1990 to 1993, at a subsidiary of Polysius Corp. in the United States; From 1993, professor of mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Freiberg, and Rector since 2000; 2003-2007 Chairman of the Saxon State Higher Education Conference.
