Ján Podmanický

Ján Podmanický was born on 17th of May 1977. He is currently a member of Slovak National Council as a member of Smer-SD. He is a chairman of Committee on Social Affairs. He is also a mayor of Stará Bystrica and a member of regional parliament of Žilina.

Political Career

Ján Podmanický has been the mayor of Stará Bystrica since 2003. He started his political career on national level in 2006 when he was elected for the member of Slovak National Council for the first time.

Education

Podmanický studied theology at the Theological Institute in Nitra and law on the Faculty of Law at Univerzita Komenského in Bratislava. He obtained his doctorate at Katolícka univerzita in Ružomberok.
